Day 4 - Favorite Quote and Why You Love It
This is tough.
For two reasons..
-I have a hard time choosing favorite anythings
-I'm a quote junkie. I used to have a 30 page Word document filled with quotes I liked (thank goodness Pinterest came along)
I'm going to bend the rules a bit and share a few..
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Why: My mom loves it and it's just plain true.
WHY: The times when you have nothing and when you have everything can shine the light on who you are. |
WHY: Success is wonderful, but you have to help others. |
WHY: We need to recognize and enjoy the simple things more. |
WHY: As long as you're helping one person, you are making a difference. Do what you can. |
WHY: Because it's true. |
I like the first, the third and the last.
ReplyDeleteThese are all really great. I like the one about looking at the stars, though I interpret it a little differently. If people took the time to look out into space at light coming from stars that are literally millions of light years away from us and considered how tiny and insignificant we really are in the grand scheme of things, I feel there would be a lot more humility in the world. And probably a lot more appreciation for the planet we ended up on, and the people we're sharing it with. I mean, what are the odds that WE'RE all alive at the same time? This exact combination of people? Pretty astronomical, I'd say. :)
ReplyDeleteThe last one is definitely 100% true and I think about it every single time I'm at a restaurant.
I love the fourth one - I get so discouraged by feeling I can't make a HUGE change for the good of humanity that I forget that I can make a difference here where I am and that even one person helped is better than none. Great post :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing everyone's input! I look forward to looking at all of your favorite quotes :)
